Reading 1 – Romans 10.9-18
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord,
and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead,
you shall be saved.
For with the heart, one believes unto justification,
and with the lips, one confesses unto salvation.
For the scripture says,
“Whoever believes in him shall not be ashamed.”
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek,
for the same Lord is Lord of all, with riches for all who call upon him.
For whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?
And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?
And how shall they hear unless it is preached?
And how shall they preach unless they were sent?
As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good gospel,
But they have not all obeyed the gospel.
For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
But I say, “Have they not heard?”
Amen, their voice went to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.
Responsorial - Psalm 19.8, 9, 10, 11 Resp. 10 or John 6.63

They are more desirable than gold,
than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey,
honey from the comb.
R. The judgments of the Lord are true, completely just. or R. Your words, Lord, are Spirit and life.
Gospel – Matthew 4.18-22
Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee,
saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and Andrew his brother,
casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
He said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
They immediately left their nets, and followed him.
Continuing on from there, he saw two more brothers,
James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother,
in a boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
They immediately left the boat and their father and followed him.
